Max’s Group suspends store operations nationwide until April 14
The country’s leading casual dining chain operator Max’s Group Inc. (MGI) has suspended operations of all local food retailing operations, citing the need to help mitigate risk of further COVID-19 infection in the country.
Although some of its stores remained operational for delivery options from the time Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon were locked down, MGI decided to suspend operations nationwide starting Thursday.
This will continue until the end of the enhanced community quarantine on April 14, MGI investor relations and compliance manager Miren Cueto said in reply to Inquirer’s query on Friday.
Cueto said all of MGI’s international stores would continue to operate within their respective local guidelines.
Asked about the rationale for the suspension, Cueto said: “At present, the current environment requires us to do our part in flattening the curve and helping the country to reduce the risk of this virus spreading further.”
MGI has not encountered raw material supply bottlenecks, Cueto said. “But, there have been challenges because of the limitations of the quarantine with respect to manpower.”
Apart from its flagship Max’s Restaurant, MGI’s family of brands include Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza, Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Max’s Corner Bakery, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Sizzlin’ Steak, Maple, Kabisera, Le Coeur De France and Singkit.
